Kat:In fact, I will actually be flying solo for the next four episodes
Kat:because I am taking the time to really share with you a framework that I
Kat:call the Wildly Wealthy Life Ladder.
Kat:It is a framework that That I sort of developed upon a lot of reflection and
Kat:just really observing my own life and, uh, what has led me to be here today,
Kat:uh, from everything I've done as an educator, as an entrepreneur, as an
Kat:entertainer and everything in between.
Kat:So I really hope that after today's episode, you also get a hold of what
Kat:it means for you to have your own version of a wildly wealthy life.

Kat:And welcome to the Wildly Wealthy Life podcast.

Kat:exceptional and fulfilling life.
Kat:Each episode focuses on how a foundation of brilliant minds and
Kat:brave hearts nurtured through the arts leads to lifelong success.

Kat:leadership values, and creativity in children and adults, turning
Kat:their potential into lasting contributions for their communities.
Kat:We hope that you embrace the challenge to shift your perspective
Kat:as we equip you and the next generation for a wildly wealthy life.
Kat:Hey everyone.
Kat:Welcome back.
Kat:So I love ladders because I'm five feet tall and for my fellow shorties out there,
Kat:it really helps when you have a two step footstool or a three to four step ladder
Kat:to reach the cabinets in your kitchen.
Kat:So ladders are great.
Kat:And so when I was thinking of my framework, I thought about naming this
Kat:the wildly wealthy life ladder because it's really, I feel like what has so
Kat:It's been instrumental in helping me reach the goals that I want to reach.
Kat:So if you think of a ladder, oh I already drew it over here.
Kat:So for those of you who are listening on Spotify, you can't see the
Kat:drawing, but if you're on YouTube then you obviously can see this.
Kat:So my beautiful ladder over here, the very bottom step is actually the frame.
Kat:And the frame for me is basically the foundation that you can control.
Kat:It is where you're able to cultivate your mindset.
Kat:I think that in life there's very, very little things that we can control.
Kat:And one of the most important things that we can control is actually
Kat:our foundation and our mindset.
Kat:I think about how.
Kat:We have no control over the family that we're born into.
Kat:We have no control over the kind of parents that are going to race us.
Kat:We have no control over the country that we are born into.
Kat:We have no control over the status, the financial status of
Kat:the family that we're born into.
Kat:Um, there's so many things we just can't control.
Kat:Right.
Kat:And, and, you know, when I was younger, my parents left at a young
Kat:age, uh, I was Seven when my parents left and they left for good reasons.
Kat:They left because they wanted to go to the States to get a better job and send
Kat:us money at home in the Philippines.
Kat:And that was amazing.
Kat:I'm so glad that they were able to do that and gave us a better future.
Kat:However.
Kat:There was still this abandonment issue that I felt as a child because
Kat:no matter how much I understood that Okay, mom and dad left for my own
Kat:good because this is them making that sacrifice to give me a better future
Kat:I still cannot understand that in my tiny little brain, you know, seven year
Kat:old brain that It was a good thing.
Kat:Like I just, yeah, I know it theoretically that it's a good thing, but I don't
Kat:really understand that it's a good thing in my mind and in my heart.
Kat:It just hurt, right?
Kat:Because your parents left, you're seven years old and you don't know
Kat:how to cope with that until I got older and realized, Oh, wow, I
Kat:have a lot of abandonment issues.
Kat:So.
Kat:I could have had let, you know, circumstances and all these other
Kat:situations really affect the way I think, and of course it did, right, but I also
Kat:knew how to, um, change my mindset.
Kat:Did it come when I was little?
Kat:I don't, I'm not really sure.
Kat:I think that as a young child, I was just really interested in a lot of activities.
Kat:And I think I just besieged myself with activities to really understand
Kat:that I was hurting from the inside.
Kat:Um, but as an adult, it all surfaced and it all came out.
Kat:And so as an adult, I learned how to kind of, Shift my mindset and
Kat:shift my perspective around that whole situation in my childhood.
Kat:So, think of frame, alright?
Kat:The frame is the frame of mind that you're in.
Kat:And for me, a frame, right, like if you think of a picture frame, it is literally
Kat:the contents, it frames the contents of the picture that's inside that frame.
Kat:So if you're an artist, you usually have a frame for your art, right?
Kat:And the smaller the frame, The more difficult it is to fit all of the drawings
Kat:and everything in that frame, right?
Kat:The bigger the frame, right, the more grand the artwork is.
Kat:We were just recently in Paris and we went to the Louvre and I looked at all this art
Kat:and they're just so friggin incredible.
Kat:They're magnificent works of art.
Kat:And the bigger it is, the more Ooh, just the grandness of it just
Kat:takes your breath away, really.
Kat:But then, of course, the smaller ones also have some intricacy to it.
Kat:There's a beauty in that as well, right?
Kat:But I'm not talking about really the size.
Kat:I'm really talking about whether your frame is fixed.
Kat:Or whether your frame is open and you're, you're open to learning.
Kat:So for me, I think about the frame as again, it's everything that shapes your
Kat:actions, your decisions, the way you see yourself, the way you see the world.
Kat:And if your frame is always just one sided and it's a fixed frame,
Kat:it's a fixed mindset, you're never going to be able to grow.
Kat:Right, you're never going to be able to challenge the way you think and and
Kat:maybe see things from other people's perspectives And so the most important
Kat:part here is truly the frame I think that it actually is the thing that sets
Kat:you up for success and sets you apart whether or not your next step is actually
Kat:going to be A step that's going to give you an edge in this world or not and
Kat:so It's so important to get that frame Your mindset your frame of mind, right?
Kat:Because if not It is the one thing that's going to pull you down over and
Kat:over and over again So my question for you on this first step Is what kind of
Kat:picture are you painting in your frame?
Kat:Is it a picture that is full of life full of possibilities?
Kat:Vibrant joyful so much energy or is it a picture?
Kat:That is full of doubt Regret blame full of unforgiveness, right?
Kat:All these other things.
Kat:What kind of picture are you painting in your frame?
Kat:The second step in the ladder is aim and aim to me is where
Kat:you channel your curiosity.
Kat:And you know, once you have decided that I will be this person
Kat:who will have a growth mindset.
Kat:The next part here is really, Being curious having that childlike
Kat:curiosity and always asking questions.
Kat:What can I learn from this right and everything that you do in every life
Kat:situation that you face ask yourself.
Kat:What can I learn from this?
Kat:Is there something that is Not to be missed in this particular situation
Kat:because if I don't miss it this time the next time this happens again I
Kat:will be more equipped and I will be stronger right and so for me, right?
Kat:I think it boils down to not being afraid of looking stupid.
Kat:Okay, when I was a kid at school I love to participate in school,
Kat:but every single time, every single time, I'm not even kidding.
Kat:Before I raised my hand, I am sweating.
Kat:I'm afraid because I'm always afraid that I might say the wrong thing.
Kat:I might pronounce something incorrectly.
Kat:The wrong answer might come out.
Kat:It might not come out.
Kat:Well, even now when I do my episodes for the podcast, not just in this,
Kat:but like in 2021 when we had the podcast, like it's, it's kind of
Kat:hard sometimes, you know, like this is one of those things where you put
Kat:yourself out there, you're talking and.
Kat:You're like, well, hopefully people are listening and hopefully people
Kat:find value in it, but I don't really know and am I even just Talking to
Kat:someone and is this even making sense?
Kat:And i'm afraid of putting my voice out there, right?
Kat:And so at some point in my life, I just had to realize that if I
Kat:keep Dimming my voice if I keep being afraid of speaking up, right?
Kat:I'm never gonna be able to put myself out there to kind of
Kat:test what I believe in, right?
Kat:I think it's really important that you have a really great mindset.
Kat:But then after that, well, how are you going to exercise that mindset?
Kat:And to me exercising that mindset is actually going into curiosity and keep
Kat:asking questions and And in putting yourself in situations where you're
Kat:not afraid to stumble or fall and and learn like a child because children
Kat:they They don't they don't they're not afraid to stumble and fall.
Kat:They just ask questions They ask a ton of questions all the time and they're
Kat:not afraid of looking stupid I remember when I first started really being serious
Kat:about stunt work and I was training a lot on different things stunt wise
Kat:from you know shooting to Wirework to All sorts of different stuff just like
Kat:a basic fight choreography and I never had any martial arts background And I
Kat:never had any gymnastics background.
Kat:So for me training in a gym Where literally everyone is just like well
Kat:the for the most part like everyone is so excellent like amazing tricker
Kat:slippers fighters martial artists And I go in there and i'm like, hi.
Kat:Um, I know nothing and I look at the Incredibly awkward doing some
Kat:of these things, but I just went for it and it didn't matter that it
Kat:looked awkward and it looks silly.
Kat:I was just learning.
Kat:And so aim for me is the part again where you start.
Kat:Really nurturing that curiosity in you and so the question here for you in this step
Kat:aim is What are you aiming to be curious about in this next stage in your life?
Kat:Is there something that you've always wanted to kind of learn but you're just
Kat:afraid right because It's something new like let's say it's public
Kat:speaking and you're just so deathly afraid of public speaking, right?
Kat:You're curious about it, but you're deathly afraid right
Kat:again go back to frame, right?
Kat:We have to kind of go back.
Kat:Why are we in that mindset of just deathly afraid?
Kat:Why are we stuck right finding out the layer beneath that and then?
Kat:Just literally nipping that in the butt and just going for it.
Kat:Just just kind of going for it and being curious and and
Kat:doing it and maybe small doses.
Kat:Maybe practice just putting a video and a one minute video out there and talking to
Kat:the camera and just practicing it, right?
Kat:So to me that is curiosity.
Kat:The third step and the latter is claim.
Kat:So claim is There's a rhyme and reason you guys frame and claim All right.
Kat:So the the third step in the ladder is claim and this is where you really
Kat:build your confidence Um to me This part right here is claiming what you know
Kat:so you settled with your mindset and you said I will have a growth mindset
Kat:and I will I will decide that i'm going to learn no matter what You went
Kat:into curiosity you aim for curiosity.
Kat:You aim for new learning you aim for new possibilities Please And then
Kat:you go to claim it to me, claiming is kind of putting your stakes in
Kat:the ground and saying, Hey, I just did all of this work and now I'm
Kat:going to put it to test, right?
Kat:By literally applying what you've learned.
Kat:So for me what that looks like is, okay, in music theory for example, right?
Kat:I could learn how to just read notes off of the page of a paper.
Kat:But until I can actually play that and put the application behind it, I can't
Kat:really call myself a piano player, right?
Kat:You may be able to just, like, look at the thing and, and, and read the
Kat:notes, but until you can play it, it is not really yours yet, right?
Kat:To me, building confidence is really, truly about claiming the knowledge
Kat:that you've learned, because they all say that knowledge is power,
Kat:but then, Lately, people have really realized that knowledge is not power.
Kat:Knowledge is just the potential for power.
Kat:And so when you claim your territory and say, okay, I have been curious enough
Kat:about this thing, I have looked into it.
Kat:I've asked questions about it.
Kat:I've learned about it.
Kat:Now, let me actually go out there and speak publicly.
Kat:Right?
Kat:That is putting it in practice because that's the only way they
Kat:are going to be able to claim what you've learned is and build the
Kat:confidence is literally by application.
Kat:Just another quick example on that one, because I feel like this is where, gosh,
Kat:like I've just like learned so much.
Kat:When I first started teaching piano online, 15 years with
Kat:all different disciplines from literally chess to dance to aerial.
Kat:And then I started teaching piano and.
Kat:I was like, well, how much do I charge?
Kat:Like, I don't know.
Kat:And, you know, I looked at people like coaches and business coaches,
Kat:and they always say that when you're starting charge, what you feel you
Kat:can charge, charge, what you think.
Kat:People would pay for, especially because you're just starting, you're new, right?
Kat:So, I charged, like, in my opinion, like, I feel like very little for
Kat:my piano lessons at that time.
Kat:But then, because I built the confidence, right?
Kat:I, I applied what I learned, I, I learned how to teach piano, and then I put it into
Kat:application with my first set of students.
Kat:And then, the more I did it, the more that I just built my confidence.
Kat:And now I can really truly like there's no there's no doubt about it.
Kat:I can claim that yes I am a piano teacher when I was first starting it was like,
Kat:oh, sometimes i'm like embarrassed like I don't know I'm a piano teacher.
Kat:I guess i'm a piano teacher Um, but but at that point right like once
Kat:you've taught like over a hundred students you can you're like, yeah
Kat:Oh, yeah, i'm a piano teacher now.
Kat:Does that mean that there's no?
Kat:No doubt sometimes in my mind or imposter syndrome.
Kat:Oh, heck.
Kat:Yeah, there's there's still those kind of kinds of moments, right?
Kat:But the point is the moment you start building your confidence because
Kat:of application The more that you actually really see your value, right?
Kat:And so nowadays like Obviously the price that I was charging back then years
Kat:ago in my piano lessons is definitely not the price that I charge now Because
Kat:I know my worth I know what I bring to the table I've seen the results
Kat:over and over again year after year.
Kat:So that's why when I say, okay, this is what i'm worth This is what my rates are.
Kat:I don't flinch, you know, I don't bat an eye because to me it's what I
Kat:feel it's worth That is claiming your territory and your confidence The
Kat:fourth step in the wealthy wealthy life ladder is game We're rhyming, you guys.
Kat:Frame, aim, claim, game.
Kat:That's me trying to be a DJ.
Kat:All right.
Kat:So, um, obviously I'm not.
Kat:So, yeah, don't hate, okay?
Kat:So, you have established yourself as someone with a growth mindset
Kat:and you made a commitment that you are going to challenge every
Kat:limiting belief that you have.
Kat:You have aimed for curiosity.
Kat:You have asked questions.
Kat:You have aimed for learning.
Kat:And then you claimed your confidence by putting into application what
Kat:you've learned and now you get into the game and the game for me is where
Kat:you step into the arena and actually test it at the higher stake, right?
Kat:Where there's higher stakes.
Kat:So, for example, to me, this is kind of like, like in sports, right?
Kat:In the claim part, you're building your confidence by practicing.
Kat:You're practicing your shots, you're practicing your dribbles, uh, you're
Kat:practicing with your teammates, right?
Kat:But until you actually play a game, With real opponents, you will really
Kat:never know what you've got, right?
Kat:It's not possible to know what you're made of until you actually step into the game.
Kat:And so for me, game is where you challenge.
Kat:Everything that you've learned.
Kat:Um, for me, that's why piano recitals, when I teach,
Kat:like, I think it's important.
Kat:Like, like, yeah, it's, to me, it's not about like performance where like you
Kat:have to be perfect, you have to show off.
Kat:It's, it's none about that.
Kat:It's just about putting like a higher stake to what you've learned and
Kat:putting yourself out there because at the end of the day, I hope that we're.
Kat:At least in my end, right?
Kat:Like I really emphasize that I want my students to learn how
Kat:to play music because music is meant to be shared with people.
Kat:And if you can sit down and share your music to other people without
Kat:fear of like, Oh, stumbling over your notes or getting scared, and this
Kat:is something that I always Struggle with too by the way to this day.
Kat:I still struggle with like, you know being perfect on the piano That's why
Kat:I really teach I really go against it because I just don't think there's really
Kat:such a thing on being like the perfect pianist It's really just about the joy
Kat:that music brings and no matter if you stumble across the notes When you put
Kat:yourself out there and you just play for people, there's magic that happens.
Kat:And that's exactly when you put yourself in the game.
Kat:When you play a game with actual opponents, magic happens.
Kat:And not to mention, it is only in gameplay where you're able to
Kat:look back and see, What did I do?
Kat:Is there something that I could have done better?
Kat:Is there something that could be tweaked in business talk?
Kat:Right?
Kat:Like for me, I'm currently relaunching, recreating my existing
Kat:program into something else.
Kat:Right.
Kat:And what I have learned is literally once we launch, no matter how good the
Kat:launches or how bad it is, if it's bad, good or bad, I'm not really wanting to
Kat:label it as good as, or bad to me, you know, I have a set number of students
Kat:that I would love to have enrolled into the launch, but like, If I don't reach
Kat:that set of students, that is my goal, then all I have to do is keep doing
Kat:the same thing, but tweak it and tweak it and refine it and tweak it, right?
Kat:But it's all about putting yourself out there and actually getting into the
Kat:game of, Because if you're not playing the game, how are you going to learn?
Kat:So the question here for you is, uh, yeah, what games are you playing these days?
Kat:Because, uh, I think that it's the truly one of the ways to
Kat:learn so quickly, but it's also truly one of the most fun moments.
Kat:I think that you get to create in your life is actually by Playing
Kat:the game of life and going for it.
Kat:So, the last step in this Wildly Wealthy Life ladder is Flame.
Kat:Flame!
Kat:Put yourself on fire!
Kat:Flame is where you ignite your creativity.
Kat:So, to me, right, all of these experiences Literally has
Kat:your own flavor to it, right?
Kat:The way you challenge your mindset has your own flavor to it.
Kat:The way you ask questions has your own way of doing it.
Kat:The way you build your confidence and practice what you've learned, the way
Kat:you step into the arena and actually, you know, be in the game and test
Kat:everything with it that you've learned.
Kat:It's your own unique flavor.
Kat:It's taken me a long, long time to get here, a long time to get here,
Kat:but I realized that this whole time, you know, cause I've enrolled
Kat:in so many business coaching, mindset training, all these things.
Kat:And, and sometimes like we get into this thing, we're like,
Kat:well, what's the magic sauce?
Kat:What's the magic sauce?
Kat:And maybe they're going to teach me something else.
Kat:That's going to be better.
Kat:You know, maybe someone is going to come along and say, Finally going to click
Kat:right and because they're going to teach me something and yes, those are true But
Kat:for the most part what really is true is that the magic sauce is you it's you
Kat:Magic sauce is me magic sauce is you and I realized that again It's taking me a
Kat:long time to get here But now you know when people come to me and for whatever
Kat:reason they don't like me or or whatever Like I just realized people will just
Kat:not like me because it's me And people will also like me because it's me.
Kat:And it's exactly the same thing with business, right?
Kat:Like if I, when I'm offering my program out there and people buy from me, it's
Kat:because it's me, there's literally another piano teacher right online, but they
Kat:will not buy from that person because they want to buy from me because it's me.
Kat:Um, and it's the same thing the other way around, right?
Kat:They will not enroll with me because they don't like me.
Kat:So the magic sauce is you, and that is your creativity.
Kat:And so creativity to me is kind of like your own way of seeing things
Kat:your own perspective on things it's um Your own take and when you bring
Kat:that flame when you bring that extra sauce, which is again already you Right
Kat:to all of this It's literally what sets you apart from everyone else.
Kat:And I do believe that everyone is unique and everyone is set apart.
Kat:And we are all called to a very specific purpose.
Kat:And, you know, there's billions of people out here in the world, and we're
Kat:supposed to impact the people that is going to be our tribe that is going to
Kat:actually respond to what you're sharing.
Kat:And so to me, Yeah, flame is just that To me, it's the last step because
Kat:it kind of encapsulates everything right it starts with your mind, right
Kat:with your mind here where You really have to challenge your self limiting
Kat:beliefs and then it also ends With yourself it ends with your secret sauce
Kat:which again is You so I hope that you guys enjoyed this to recap, right?
Kat:We have the five steps to a worldly wealthy life ladder You It's the frame.
Kat:This is where you challenge your self limiting beliefs and decide
Kat:that you will have a growth mindset.
Kat:You will be that person that will always grow your mindset
Kat:and expand your, your mind.
Kat:Aim here is where you aim for curiosity and learning.
Kat:You ask questions.
Kat:You don't pretend that you know it all and don't be afraid of making mistakes.
Kat:Claim here is where you put the information into action, right?
Kat:With that, this is where you build confidence because.
Kat:Like in piano, right?
Kat:If I practice every day, um, I'm literally putting everything that I'm learning
Kat:into action and I am building confidence.
Kat:And after I, I've claimed my territory and I've built the confidence, I go
Kat:into the arena and I play the game.
Kat:Uh, the game is where there's higher stakes involved.
Kat:And this is where you really get to challenge everything that
Kat:you've learned and your mindset.
Kat:it and the questions that you've asked.
Kat:And then it's also where you get to improve because it's only when
Kat:you play the game that you get to look back and check, well,
Kat:what could I have done better?
Kat:What can I tweak next time?
Kat:What can I improve on?
Kat:And the flame goes back to you where it is your magic sauce.
Kat:This is where you spark the world with your own creativity.
Kat:So.
Kat:That's it.
Kat:I hope you enjoyed that.
