Speaker:

Have you ever gone to a business conference thinking that one of

Speaker:

the activities they're going to make you do is to bend a spoon?

Speaker:

This is a spoon that I bent today in one of the activities in a business

Speaker:

conference, business gathering.

Speaker:

You know, when you think about business conferences, you're going to think

Speaker:

strategy, how to do marketing, how to do sales, how to grow your business.

Speaker:

But this business by design experience is completely different because it's

Speaker:

teaching us that everything that has to do with growth in your business first

Speaker:

comes and foremost with everything that has to do with your growth as a person.

Speaker:

And so today they told us, they, they showed us a clip of Neo and the Matrix,

Speaker:

the scene of that little boy, like bending the spoon and they're like, yep,

Speaker:

you're going to bend the spoon today.

Speaker:

So they handed the spoons and this is like completely Oh, I can't even, I

Speaker:

can't even do anything to that right now.

Speaker:

Cause it was a whole experience.

Speaker:

It was a whole exercise, but now I have the recording of the event and

Speaker:

I'm literally going to take myself through the exercise over and over

Speaker:

and over again, until I've been like, I don't know, maybe 10 spoons.

Speaker:

It was an incredibly powerful experience.

Speaker:

Um, it is now Friday, December 6th at 11.

Speaker:

P.

Speaker:

m.

Speaker:

I just got back from the event.

Speaker:

I was there at 8 a.

Speaker:

m.

Speaker:

It was full day.

Speaker:

We had an hour and a half for lunch, 45 minutes for dinner.

Speaker:

And in between, it was all speaker after speaker application after application.

Speaker:

And this is one of the application exercises was to bend a spoon.

Speaker:

And before we went into the exercise.

Speaker:

You know, they really told us that we have to be detached from the results, just

Speaker:

like in, in business and in life, right?

Speaker:

When we're so attached to the results or the outcome, a lot of the times

Speaker:

we, we forget about the journey and the process and how to actually enjoy

Speaker:

that part, because we're, we just want to get there so badly and so quickly.

Speaker:

And we had to say, if we don't bend the spoon, it just means

Speaker:

we're learning how to hold energy.

Speaker:

And if we bend the spoon, it also means we're just.

Speaker:

learning how to hold energy.

Speaker:

So the result of whether you bend the spoon or not has

Speaker:

nothing to do with who you are.

Speaker:

It's we're just learning how to hold energy.

Speaker:

And this seems like a really weird activity, right?

Speaker:

Like to some people may may think.

Speaker:

Okay, big deal.

Speaker:

You, you meant a spoon.

Speaker:

So what?

Speaker:

Or maybe to some, it's like, Ooh, that's really weird.

Speaker:

You're so weird cat.

Speaker:

Like, you know, like, what are you talking about?

Speaker:

You know?

Speaker:

Um, but let me break it down just a little bit.

Speaker:

What it really just means is that, you know, when I talked about frequency

Speaker:

in the last episode, which was last night's debrief of the event yesterday,

Speaker:

I talked about how we hold it.

Speaker:

We have a frequency and our frequencies are energetic vibe.

Speaker:

And what that really just means is that the way we present ourselves to the world

Speaker:

and to everything around us is It's a direct reflection of who we actually think

Speaker:

we are internally and subconsciously.

Speaker:

So if we believe that we're not worthy and we're not enough, uh, and we're not

Speaker:

loved the way we present ourselves to others, we'll always have that frequency,

Speaker:

like a layer of that energy underneath it.

Speaker:

So even if we're like, we're outgoing, we're awesome.

Speaker:

We look confident, but internally.

Speaker:

You're really struggling with self worth, that frequency is still going

Speaker:

to come out no matter what, because no matter what you look like externally,

Speaker:

what is actually internally going on inside of you is truly what matters.

Speaker:

And so, In the exercise is talking about your power and the energy that you

Speaker:

hold inside and be able to focus that power into something or into someone.

Speaker:

So we are all conduits of energy.

Speaker:

We hold energy in our bodies, right?

Speaker:

So we are conduits of energy, but then we can also transfer that energy.

Speaker:

And that was something that.

Speaker:

And this is how do we hold the energy that's inside of us and

Speaker:

then transfer it into something to really powerfully demonstrate

Speaker:

that we are powerful human beings.

Speaker:

We are powerful.

Speaker:

Our words have power.

Speaker:

Our thoughts have power.

Speaker:

Everything in our body holds power.

Speaker:

And How do we make sure that, you know, the energy that we carry has power

Speaker:

because of the internal belief systems that we have believed our entire lives.

Speaker:

And so they made this go through the series of exercise.

Speaker:

The room is dark and there's music going on.

Speaker:

And, uh, the lady, Jennifer Finley, she made us to go

Speaker:

through this exercise where we.

Speaker:

Hold the spoon.

Speaker:

And she said, um, think about the time in your life where you felt the most joy and

Speaker:

whatever comes to your mind right away.

Speaker:

You trust that.

Speaker:

And you just go with that.

Speaker:

You don't you don't judge it.

Speaker:

You don't change it.

Speaker:

You just take that.

Speaker:

And then you try to grab a hold of that power because there's

Speaker:

there's power in that joy.

Speaker:

And you tried to find it.

Speaker:

Focus it into the space between your fingers because you're holding the spoon

Speaker:

like this and just focusing that energy there and, and, and seeing if you can,

Speaker:

as you focus that energy there that it would actually make the spoon bend.

Speaker:

So think about, uh, a faucet if there's no host.

Speaker:

When you open the faucet, you know, the, the, the water is going to come out,

Speaker:

but it's not going to be as powerful.

Speaker:

But if you have a hose, right, the water that comes out of a faucet, all

Speaker:

of a sudden has this surge of energy.

Speaker:

It goes through the host.

Speaker:

And when it goes out of that spout in the host.

Speaker:

It has so much power because it's focused energy.

Speaker:

And so it felt like a forever exercise.

Speaker:

I think it was like about 40 minutes long, and it was just

Speaker:

a series of those scenarios.

Speaker:

When did you feel the most loved?

Speaker:

When did you feel the most courage?

Speaker:

All these different scenarios, and you just had to take a hold of that, and then,

Speaker:

You know, focus that power and transfer it that that energy and transfer it

Speaker:

into the spoon to try to bend the spoon and I'm sitting there closing my eyes.

Speaker:

I'm thinking, yep, definitely not happening to me today.

Speaker:

I don't know what power they're talking about, but I'm trying to drop into these

Speaker:

experiences of joy and love and courage.

Speaker:

And this is just not happening.

Speaker:

And then she said, Okay, now think about a year from now, because we're in a business

Speaker:

conference and the business conference is all about how to grow your business.

Speaker:

What do you do right to grow your business?

Speaker:

And again, this is not just about strategy.

Speaker:

It's about actually working internally to be able to present yourself

Speaker:

in a more effective way, right?

Speaker:

That actually really translates that that converts because you are

Speaker:

presenting in your most authentic self.

Speaker:

And so she said, picture yourself a year from now.

Speaker:

You've accomplished what you want to accomplish in your year in this one

Speaker:

year of business because we're coming up into, you know, the end of the year and

Speaker:

now we're talking about our goals for the year for your business and you've

Speaker:

accomplished it and you see your future self and step into that future self now.

Speaker:

But before you do that, think about.

Speaker:

What was the cause that finally made that breakthrough happen?

Speaker:

What was the thing that finally allowed you to crush your numbers, to meet

Speaker:

your goals, and to, to be exactly where you wanted to be a year from now?

Speaker:

And yesterday, my breakthrough yesterday was the realization that I still

Speaker:

have all these self worth issues.

Speaker:

And the only way for me to step out of that instantly is to drop into who I am.

Speaker:

in my identity in Christ, in my identity as a daughter of the Most High God, in my

Speaker:

identity in the daughter of the Father who loves me unconditionally no matter what.

Speaker:

And the moment I dropped into that and I had this vision again of myself just like

Speaker:

running towards Papa, running towards my Father, and just holding my arms like

Speaker:

this and God picking me up and swinging me around and holding me, the moment I

Speaker:

had that vision, This surge of power.

Speaker:

I can't, it was crazy because after the exercise, I was sobbing

Speaker:

uncontrollably and I could not even talk.

Speaker:

I wanted to share, because after that they were asking people to share.

Speaker:

I wanted to raise my hand and share, but I couldn't.

Speaker:

I just sat and I was like,

Speaker:

like, I don't even know, but I was literally, and the lady next to

Speaker:

me, she's like, you need a hug.

Speaker:

And I'm like, and she just hugged me so tightly because it was.

Speaker:

It was incredible, the experience that I had, and so I pictured that, and I

Speaker:

felt this power, and then I stepped into my future self, and I saw myself

Speaker:

as someone who finally has successfully taught hundreds of kids this life skill

Speaker:

of finding their self worth, this life skill of resilience, the life skill of

Speaker:

integrity, the life skill of standing up to peer pressure, the life skill of,

Speaker:

of, of Stepping into their own power, the life skill of, of believing in

Speaker:

themselves and, and having confidence and they no longer have self worth

Speaker:

issues like these kids that are 6 to 14 year olds and, and they're like young

Speaker:

kids, but they're stepping into their power and they're not having comparison

Speaker:

issues and, and all these things.

Speaker:

And, and I, I saw myself as that person who successfully taught these kids.

Speaker:

And, and were able to mentor them and, and help them find a stronger

Speaker:

mindset and a stronger identity.

Speaker:

And as I was doing that, I just kept feeling this search of

Speaker:

power and I just held the spoon.

Speaker:

And I, I was doing this and I was like, I think it's, Oh, that's odd.

Speaker:

I think it's moving.

Speaker:

I think it's moving and I look and I open my eyes and I'm

Speaker:

like, oh my gosh, it's moving.

Speaker:

It's moving.

Speaker:

It's moving.

Speaker:

Freaking bent it.

Speaker:

And, and And the thing is, like, as soon as I opened my eyes, right, I,

Speaker:

because it was bending, I, I kind of like, I think that the power was there,

Speaker:

but I was so surprised that I was like, Oh, I was, I was like, so excited.

Speaker:

I kind of like put even more force to it.

Speaker:

And, and so the beginning part was really, really, it, it really felt like surreal.

Speaker:

It felt like this weird sense of energy that it was just bending the spoon, like,

Speaker:

and, and I was not in control of it.

Speaker:

It was like the craziest experience.

Speaker:

And then, and then, I was, I opened my eyes and I was so surprised

Speaker:

that I just was so excited.

Speaker:

I kept bending it right.

Speaker:

And then later on, after that, in the exercise, once we all like kind of settled

Speaker:

from that experience, Jennifer Finley, the lady said, you know, the more you

Speaker:

do this, uh, Literally the less energy it actually takes, because what happens

Speaker:

is the more you understand your power and your energy and how you can actually

Speaker:

transfer it, um, into your personal life, into your business life, um, into

Speaker:

the way you parent and your friendships and like literally in everything, right?

Speaker:

Like if you have that crazy love energy, crazy, joyful energy, crazy,

Speaker:

uh, courage, energy, and that.

Speaker:

Power and you're able to transfer that into everything you do.

Speaker:

Gosh, that's powerful.

Speaker:

And so she said that you can actually do this exercise over and over again.

Speaker:

And over time, you're going to learn that you won't need as much,

Speaker:

like you actually don't need a lot.

Speaker:

You just need a little, and you can work with a little, and you're going to be

Speaker:

a lot more efficient with transferring that energy because you, you're going

Speaker:

to The little that we have is already a lot, actually, like the little power

Speaker:

that we have is already a lot, and in the beginning you feel like you have to

Speaker:

harness that so much and push it into, you know, learn how to transfer that

Speaker:

energy and that power, but, but after a while you're just going to learn,

Speaker:

you know, that you can be a little more chill about it and you can, you

Speaker:

know, you, you, you just drop into it, you just, because it's a practice, and

Speaker:

so I'm just so excited, because now I have a new exercise that I want to do.

Speaker:

I'm not going to say every day because I don't want to say something and then, you

Speaker:

know, actually not follow through with it.

Speaker:

But I'm definitely going to be doing this again.

Speaker:

And maybe, maybe just been, you know, at least maybe put a goal

Speaker:

like, okay, let's talk 10 spoons.

Speaker:

Let's bend 10 spoons.

Speaker:

Let's go through these, through this exercise 10 times.

Speaker:

And I'm going to bend 10 spoons and learn how to always find

Speaker:

that power that was so powerful.

Speaker:

Oh, the moment I saw myself as a little girl.

Speaker:

Who felt so loved, but not just loved, but loved by my father

Speaker:

in heaven unconditionally.

Speaker:

And then I saw myself as that's the reason why I was able to fully step

Speaker:

into the growth of my business, because I am so secure in who I am,

Speaker:

because I have nothing to prove.

Speaker:

And I've let go of any attachment to what success looks like.

Speaker:

And I've let go of any attachment to, you know, me having to

Speaker:

prove to the world that.

Speaker:

Oh, look at me.

Speaker:

Look at my empire.

Speaker:

Look at my look at my business.

Speaker:

Look at this.

Speaker:

Look at that.

Speaker:

And the moment I've let go of that, you know, that that's actually what's gonna

Speaker:

make me successful is letting go of the need to prove and the need to, you know,

Speaker:

attach myself worth into an achievement.

Speaker:

And so that was really interesting and powerful in all the ways and

Speaker:

What an incredible experience today, and I will be back tomorrow at BBD Live.

Speaker:

I'm gonna keep this forever.

Speaker:

My very, very first spoon, my very, very first bent spoon.

Speaker:

I am now officially a part of the Spoon Benders Club, that's what they say.

Speaker:

I don't know, it's not really a club, it's a made up thing,

Speaker:

but I just think it's cool, so.

Speaker:

That's my takeaway from today.

Speaker:

We have our power.

Speaker:

We need to understand our power.

Speaker:

We need to know our power.

Speaker:

We need to own our power, and we need to know how to be able to transfer it to

Speaker:

the things that we do in, in real life.

Speaker:

Very cool.

About the Podcast

Wildly Wealthy Life

Hey There!

We’re Lee and Kat, the voices behind the Wildly Wealthy Life podcast, where we dive into what it really means to live a fulfilling, extraordinary life—one built on mindset, leadership, and creativity.

Back in 2020, we launched the podcast with a focus on interviewing people who had either gained financial freedom or were well on their way. The common thread in every story? Intentional generosity. We shared real stories from people who are living with purpose and giving back.

We made it to 30 episodes, but life had other plans—between launching a new business, losing Lee’s dad, and navigating our own personal challenges, we decided to take a pause and regroup. The world was going through a lot, and so were we.

But even in the midst of all that, we stayed grounded in what matters most to us: living intentionally and generously. Our marriage started with nearly $100K in debt, but through persistence and hard work, we paid it off and went on to buy five properties with a total of 13 units. That journey tested our grit and tenacity, proving to us that no challenge is too great when you're driven by purpose and determination.

When we were ready to relaunch, we knew the focus needed to shift. Now, Wildly Wealthy Life isn’t just about financial freedom—it’s about how brilliant minds and brave hearts, fueled by creativity, a growth mindset, and strong leadership skills, truly lead to an extraordinary life.

As we navigate this journey, we find joy in the little things—like spending time with our three fur babies, King Boogie, Prince Goose, and Princess Smokey. We’ve fostered over 20 kittens, and while we’ve faced the heartache of struggling to have kids after 18 years of marriage, caring for these little furballs has brought us comfort and laughter during some challenging times.

A few other things that bring us joy are gaming, hiking, and all things martial arts for Lee, along with building everything from furniture to model planes. For Kat, it’s all about reading, playing the piano, and having fun with aerial arts. We’re also passionate travelers and have had the privilege of taking our families on wonderful trips around the world.

Our marriage, like any other, has had its ups and downs, but each experience has only deepened our belief that true wealth comes from living with purpose and positively impacting those around us.

We’re excited to bring that message to each episode of Wildly Wealthy Life. So, whether you’re tuning in for mindset shifts, leadership tips, or a creative spark, we hope to inspire you to live your own Wildly Wealthy Life.

To Your Wild Growth,
Lee and Kat
